The Guiding Principles of Ayurveda:
The three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) are the foundation of an individual's body type. The person is healthy when the doshas are restored to its natural state. The doshas are disrupted as the ama (toxin) accumulates in the body due to poor eating habit, lack of proper exercise and rest, and other unhealthy lifestyle choices. This accumulation of ama will lead to more serious health condition or disease if not being eliminated or reversed.
Circadian Rhythm, sometimes referred as "body clock", is the 24-hour cycle that tells our bodies when to sleep, rise, and eat. When we live in tune with nature, our bodies will automatically rest and wake, crave nourishing food and experiences that align with our bodies for optimum health. When we don't attuned ourselves with the nature, our bedtime becomes irregular, we crave junk food and non-nurturing lifestyle choices. The vicious cycle of little imbalances can lead to discomfort in digestive tract, physical aches and pains, stress and eventually manifest to a full blown dis-ease in the body if left unattended.
The twin sister of Ayurveda. According to Dr. Vasant Lad, one of the world's foremost experts in Ayurveda who also has extensive academic and practical training in western medicine - Ayurveda and yoga are concurrent and inherent healing systems.
Yoga heals through Asana (yoga poses), Pranayama (breathing) and meditation.
Ayurveda heals through panchakarma (detox program), rejuvenation, herbs, and proper diet and lifestyle regimen.

Human beings are set with the subconscious mind programming by the time we reach age of seven. Whether we realize it or not, our subconscious mind rules our lives more than 90% of the time and this innate belief system can be empowering, or often times, limiting and self-sabotaging.
